hi, friends! i’m so glad you’re here. welcome to the meggy bug website!!!
this has been in the works for many months now – and there are still many more months to complete the vision, but i wanted to be brave and share this with you as i continue to work on it. 🙂
i have been dreaming of creating a little place on the internet that fosters joy, connection, and inspiration while also displaying my art and ideas. though it’s still a work in progress, my website is inspired by my love of tumblr and pinterest as media platforms for digital collaging and creative expression.
as an artist at heart and in practice, i have always had a hard time displaying a project if it’s not 1000000% reflective of the vision in my head. in many moments throughout my adult life, this fear has held me back from creative growth and opportunities to share my work. it has been healing for me to meet other artists that feel the same exact way and to bring encouragement and reassurance into those conversations. i have had to learn that there is so much bravery in showing something in its process and choosing to be proud of where you’re at with a project, even if you still have a lot more work that you want to put into it. i’ve also learned that sharing my art inspires others to do the same.
today, as i welcome you into the early stages of my website, i am choosing to be brave. i am choosing to act as someone that can do the hard things so that it might inspire you to do your hard thing, as well.
wherever you might find yourself – whether you call yourself an artist or not – i invite you to start sharing the passion project you’ve been keeping behind closed doors, especially if it’s not finished. there is so much bravery and encouragement to be found in letting people into the process and granting yourself the freedom to put your creativity and ideas on display. you do not need to wait until it’s perfect.
